Thanks to Connie in the Omaha NE area for this post. This is a Re-Blog of the top 10 Twitter Cities by Connie Watts. Connie tweets as SellingOmaha
London is the number one city for Twitter... not London Ohio of course, London England.
When you hear London on TV or radio do you think London Ohio or London England?
I think England.
When you hear Dublin do you think Dublin Ohio or Dublin Ireland?
I think Ohio.
Because Dublin is bigger than London (talking Ohio here)? Or because I live and work in the Worthington area and have probably only been in London Ohio a few times in my life? I was last in Dublin on Saturday.
I want to say Columbus is the 27th biggest Twitter city... but that does not include me... or people in Dublin, Worthington, Powell, Lewis Center, Westerville, etc. who say they live in Dublin, Worthington, Powell, Lewis Center, Westerville, etc. rather than say Columbus. Columbus is the 27th Top Twitter City in the World
Oh no... Columbus has fallen to number 29 on the list.
I am not Columbus Ohio Twitter elite but these folks are Columbus OH Twitter Elite
Do you Twitter? I am @MoInColumbuOH
I found this interesting website that ranked The Top 50 Twitter Cities. It's very cool that the majority of the top 10 are in the United States. Interesting that Denver, Phoenix and Las Vegas were so far down on the list. But, hey, at least they made the list, unlike Omaha, Nebraska.
1. London
2. Los Angeles
3. Chicago
4. New York
5. San Francisco
6. Toronto
7. Seattle
8. Atlanta
9. Boston
10. Austin

Hey Maureen, I like this post because it raises my level of awareness for Twitter, but I have a stupid question -- I don't really know what twitter is and what does that mean when it says that people are following you? At the same time, there are so many different types of similar sites (Facebook, LinkdIn), etc., how do you draw the line between trying to go to too many and being on the right ones?
Hi Maureen... for some reason I am surprised that Dallas ranked as highly as it did. I, personally, don't see much tweeting around these parts!
Twitter is microblogging 140 characters. Following on Twitter is the same as associating or subscribing here. Following is not a commitment to keep up with everything someone you follow tweets, you just are able to see it when they do, if you want to.
I read some authority this week that said join them all. I can't 100 percent remember why or even who it was that said it but I read the blog post and it made some sense. I still think there are some social media / networking that is just too stupid but I thought Twitter was the stupidest but I like it now.
Steve right behind Houston. It actually surprises me that both are so high.
