The music video set in Columbus is called "Green in the Morning."
I spotted....
The statehouse reflected in a glass building across the street.
The carousel at the Columbus Zoo.
The Wonder Bread sign in Victorian Village (sadly in the news this week.)
A view of downtown from the north showing the train trestle. Does that train trestle have a name?
All locations and more are shown in this music video done for a competition.
What other Columbus locations can you pick out in this music video?
I had to go check if the carousel in the music video was in fact the carousel at the Columbus Zoo... coulda been a carousel at Kings Island or Cedar Park or elsewhere in the state of Ohio... or maybe this story is about meeting a girl long ago and far away... wait no, there was an Ohio Historical Marker... The point I did not know for sure if the "Grand Carousel" was the carousel at the Columbus Zoo. I do now.
Here is the scoop from Waymarking, Grand Carousel:
This "Grand Carousel," manufactured in 1914 by the William I. Mangels Company with wood horses carved by the Marcus Illions Company, was first located at Olentangy Park, an interurban-era amusement park in Clintonville. In 1938, the Mangels-Illions carousel was relocated to the Scioto Ranch Park (also known as the Zoo Amusement Park and Wyandot Lake). On June 17, 2000, the restored carousel, with the original 52 horses and 2 chariots, began "spinning its magic" at this location. Of the nearly 5000 "Grand Carousels" that were operational in the early 1900s, fewer than 200 remain. "

OK getting angry now... I changed this video yesterday because the one I originally embedded which worked when I posted it aid somethiing like Sorry this video is no longer available. I went back to YouTube to find another version that would work and now get a message here that this is a private version for friends.
When I was first trying to watch the videos Sunday a number said they were not available. What's going on?
Goshdangit! I've tried to leave you a comment 3 times and it keeps getting deleted! This blog is haunted!
the whole blog or just this post?
it says you did on another post... but it is mysteriously vanished....
Hi Maureen... I can't seem to get the video to work either. It says it is a private video for friends. :(
What's up w/ the wonder bread sign... I don't get much CMH news in Dallas!
Wonder Bread is shutting down the plant in Columbus. It was announced Thursday I believe.
I am not sure what is going on with the videos in the competition, I have one for this music video on my real blog too, I don't believe I switched that one out. It is the original code I used in this one, that worked and then stopped working.
This is NOT my favorite music video in the competition or even my favorite Columbus music video in the competition so I am not going to waste time switching out code if there is something wrong with the competition or w/ YouTube. I like YouTube videos but have never been a big fan of YouTube as a social network. Or their rating.
Teri Lussier has a post about a music video that is set in Dayton.. that is in the competition. That code does not seem so temperamental.
OK I redid it. Last time.
