Happy Columbus Day if you celebrate it. Does your city celebrate Columbus Day? Or does your city celebrate an alternate holiday to honor Native Americans?
Columbus Day is a federal holiday.
Columbus Ohio, the largest city named after Christopher Columbus celebrates Columbus Day. There is no Columbus Day Parade in town though... Columbus Day... I love a parade The City of Columbus has a wreath laying ceremony this morning... at the statue of Christopher Columbus at City Hall, downtown Columb. Central Ohio celebrates Columbus with Experience Columbus Days.
Whose off work today for Columbus Day in Columbus Ohio?
Your mailman, the garbage men, most government employees.... From my understanding schools are open in Central Ohio with the exception of Columbus State University.
If you are in Columbus and lucky enought to have the day off of work, today is the last day of Experience Columbus Days. If you are in Columbus and have the day off, you are in for another gorgeous day, how did Experience Columbus and our local meteorologists (weather folk) arrange the weather for Experience Columbus Days so well.
In "Greetings from ..." pictures of Columbus Ohio from the Columbus Dispatch has "Postcard-quality photos picture city at its best."
Happy Columbus Day from Columbus Ohio!

Happy Columbus Day Maureen...may you enjoy a well deserved day off.
Even though Maryland doesn't celebrate Columbus Day as such, I do...must be the Italian in me. Happy Columbus Day!
Happy Columbus Day guys...
I was in San Francisco once on Columbus Days... big celebration. I had never lived anywhere that celebrated Columbus Day. I don't usually think of the city of Columbus being named after an Italian explorer... to me the images of Columbus, the city is "Columbus" not the images of the explorer.... even though I learned about him in grade school. There are local reminders of why we are named after Christopher Columbus.
Hi Maureen... When I was a kid growing up in New Jersey, Columbus day was a school holiday every year. I think that was the last time it was ever a day off for me. Even when I lived in Columbus and worked for Honda of America Mfg. in Marysville it was never a day off. Happy Columbus Day! :)
Maureen,
While I was waiting for your page to load, I enjoyed the photo of the tall corn. Don't see that much here in Tucson. Happy Columbus Day to you!
Mike in Tucson
