I was not surfing the web yesterday.
I had not heard the news.
I missed the announcement that the lawsuit against NAR (National Association of Realtors) by the DOJ (Department of Justice) is over...
After posting an entry I "Googled" for Columbus + NAR to see if ALL of the local real estate bloggers scooped me.
Google asked:
Did you mean: Columbus + NEAR
National Association of Realtors 5 minutes ago by Maureen McCabe
The DOJ (Department of Justice) had a lawsuit against NAR (National Association of Realtors) for years. CNN (is that Cable News Network?) Money says the DOJ lawsuit against NAR was filed in September 2005. Settled Tuesday… breaking news ...

You gotta love Google!
No, I really meant Columbus and NAR, National Association of Realtors.
5 minutes ago? I posted "National Association of Realtors " within the hour. Google picks up ColumbusBestBlog.com (my other blog) quick..
Thanks to William Johnson on ActiveRain for the heads up (I was not surfing the web yesterday...) NAR Settles Lawsuit with Justice Dept William's post is Members Only... no big secrets, he's talking to his peers... I linked to the same CNNMoney article Willam did.
Columbus and CLOSE UP
Real estate is local. The scoop is only a little blurb in our local news, the Columbus Dispatch. It is in the news briefs. I'm sure they will cover the story locally soon, quoting local folk about what it will mean for us (agents, brokerages, consumers.) It will be interesting to see if it changes real estate locally.
N is for National
I have not even gone to see what NAR has to say about the settlement yet.
NAR, the National Association of Realtors, is a trade organization. The DOJ lawsuit against NAR was about IDX and VOW as I recall....don't know what IDX is or VOW read about it on CBB I mean ColumbusBestBlog.com Thanks.

It asked me if I wanted "Bonita Springs Near" too. At least it didn't ask me if I wanted Bonita Springs Nair or somthing...
Chris - and you wear short shorts (I think that was NAIR...) in Florida.
I'm going to one of the political groups on AR and start the conspiracy theory that ActiveRain orchestrated the timing to remove scrutiny on their actions and motives in removing a member. I'll say psst... Jonathan was able to pick up a phone and call someone at the DOJ and say "help!' Diversion...
I am interested to see how much blog juice this story gets on AR. This is about government.... this is an issue that impacts our industry. I think. Only time will tell.
Whoooaa! I'm past the big 4-0 and quit wearing shorts altogether to spare the public my saggy knees! I am the only long pants runner in south Florida, I assure you. (just in case the department of justice is reading this, i don't want any trouble)
... better hope that by wearing long pants in Southern Florida... and voicing that on a public forum... you are not creating a conspiracy to deny all Nair like products free market as the voice of Bonita Spings Florida... if women all over S. Florida have long pants with nubby legs... you could find yourself in hot water.. and it may not be in the privacy of your own shower.
LOL @ Nair SHORT SHORTS - I remember that!
I do not wear anything shorter than clam diggers in public!
I am wearing long pants to SPARE the public my lilly white lumpy thighs. I have no problem with nair or short shorts. I just don't want them on me. Oh, and since "Bonita Beach Bob" got issued a ticket for wearing a speedo I don't think I'll do anything that ticks off 5-0.
Who wears short shorts?
I had thunder thighs in high school... and yes I wore short shorts but that was decades ago. My knees are usually under cover...
"ticks off 5-0" ???????????????????????????
That would be five-oh. As in the police, policia, po po. Is this an example of the "jargon" we should not use to confuse our customers?
Your customers may understand five-oh.... lingo is local.
Thanks for the news article via Twitter. Funny story. I had not heard anything about it. I fall asleep watching Leno usually...
NAR vs DOJ settlement= big yawn
