The Doo Dah Parade 2012

Doo Dah Parade 2012 went off without a hitch despite the heat.

Doo Dah Parade 2012 Marching Fidels

My perennial favorites the Marching Fidels were in the 2012 Doo Dah Parade, but there were not as many of the bearded, cigar smoking, khaki clad revolutionaries as other years.

Queen Elizabeth appeared in the 2012 Doo Dah Parade in Columbus in honor of her Jubilee.

"60 Years on the throne"

Not a lot of presidential politics in the Doo Dah Parade this year.   A bit, but not much really.

Local politics... Is Clintonville seceding?  What did I miss?

The Fishnet Mafia was in the parade.  A huge group from Yay Bikes was in the parade.  A number of Art Cars were in this year.  The pierced people pulling a vehicle ( I can not look) were in again... Evolved.

Lots of electricity themed entries in the Doo Dah Parade, this year in honor of many in central Ohio who are going without electricty since the storm came through on June 29th.

The Doo Dah Parade is in the Short North and Victorian Village on July 4 each year. The 2012 Doo Dah Parade was the 29th Doo Dah Parade....

Doo Dah Parade 2011  Uncle Sam was not in the Doo Dah Parade in 2012,  nor was Batman, they were in 2011.

Sounds like a fun event, we were actually in a parade ourselves yesterday with the Hillsboro Little League. Gave a away almost $200 in candy away to kids along the parade route... It was so much fun and the weather is perfect... Maybe you should be in the parade next year.

There was someone giving out candy yesterday but this is not really a family event.  Itty bitty babies in arms or nearly grown ups but not a lot in between.  It is a unique holiday event.
