Exotic animals leaving Columbus Zoo today

 Columbus Zoo

The surviving exotic animals housed at the Columbus Zoo since last fall are leaving Columbus today.   Today?

Where were you last October when the lions, tigers and bears were let loose in Ohio? I was two counties west of Muskingum County, Ohio watching it on TV.

The next day the surviving animals moved to Columbus, to the Columbus Zoo.  Columbus Zoo rescuse animals from Zanesville

The animals have been living in southern Delaware County at the Columbus Zoo.  The Columbus Zoo has a Powell, Ohio address.

Mrs. Thompson, the owner of the surviving animals is taking them home to the Zanesville area.  Today?

The photo of the entrance to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is tlarrow's.  A link to the photo on Flickr:  tlarrow licensed the photo with a Creative Commons license which I believe allows me to use the photo here.

That was quite a story when it happened ... we had a lot of coverage about it here in Georgia!

We were all abuzz about it here, of course.  It has continued to be in the news here.  One of the big cats got killed accidently at the zoo.  The zoo or people interested in the animals not going back to the cages in Zanesville have been visible in the news.   Our laws about keeping exotic animals had to be addressed.

Maureen - I can't believe they are allowing this woman to take the animals back! What a shame.

Judy She is at the zoo now... one of the local stations had video of a woman backing up a truck with a huge trailer to the medical center where the remaining five exotic animals have been kept in quarantine.   I think there was a federal hearing / ruling about it that allowed her to take the animals home to Zanesville.

I saw something on the news this morning about the neighbors being scared that the animals are going back to Zanesville.
