Delaware County, Ohio is springing forward in 2012

Delaware County, Ohio it's time to Spring Forward!

Real Living ecard Spring Forward

Daylight Saving or Savings DST siteDaylight Saving Time   A fun site with facts about Daylight Saving Time includes grammar... Is it Daylight Saving Time or Daylight Savings Time?  They say it is NOT Daylight Savings Time.  Oooops on a post on my Columbus site I say "Daylight Savings Time" to match the image on that version of the 2012 reminder to spring forward.  A Daylight Saving Time grammar lesson:  "Saving is used as a verbal adjective - a participle. It modifies time and tells us about it's nature, namely that it is characterized by the activity of saving daylight."

OK!

Still cloudy about the whole DST thing? Me too.  Why do we do it?  When do we do it?  Who does it? The Daylight Saving Time site (top link above)  has more than grammar tips.

  • Smoke detector reminder
  • Why?
  • History
  • Controversy
  • More... way more.

Delaware County, Ohio Spring Forward 2012

Spring is Around the Corner Columbus Buckeye Chuck in Marion Ohio did not see his shadow on Groundhogs Day fortelling central Ohio would NOT have another six week of winter.

OooOoo that Smell  that smell is a sign of spring!

Snowdrops - March 2012 Highbanks Metro Park Delaware County Ohio

The snowdrops were blooming last week at Highbanks Metro Park in Delaware County, Ohio.

What a different winter we've had this year.  In the 2010 - 2011 winter season we had a lot of snow... Do you remember March 2008? In March 2008 we were hit with the storm of the century just before the change for daylight savings time.  We got over 20 inches of snow in the Columbus area.

The Blizzard of 2008 Spring Forward The Monday after the blizzard I wrote:

"The City of Columbus was never above a Level 2...snow emergency or at least the parts that are in Franklin County, the majority of the city. I forget that the Polaris area is City of Columbus and is in Delaware County. Franklin County, Ohio was level 2 snow emergency. Delaware County, Ohio was a level 3 snow emergency.

The airport stayed open throughout the blizzard despite plane skidding off the runway as it landed at Port Columbus on Friday night."

The spring equinox is only about a week and a half away.  It will be officially spring then... until then enjoy this remaining winter weather.
