Good morning, Maureen.....with new custom homes in your inventory, the phones will be ringing....everyone loves a new home.......people always start their search with a new home and that's a great way to pick up new buyers....

Custom homes - as in not cookie cutter - I love them! So many new homes here are all the same!

Most of our local production builders build a lot of very similar homes.  Some neighborhoods are pretty cookie cuttery if that is a word.  Spell check is not happy with it. 

We do have a number of custom builders in Central Ohio.  In this years parade, only three of eleven were custom.  Maybe more will participate in the 2012 event.   New England Homes  typically builds on the buyers lot and they do have a series of floor plans.  

The barn is a sales center, not a model.  

I got to see a resale home that was built by New England homes on Wednesday, it was the same model that they built in 2009 for the Parade of Homes but NE Homes made a number of changes for the buyers who are now sellers.  Gorgeous house!

I miss custom builders and where I am from in the midwest it is pretty much norm and not the exception like it is here.

emily - columbus is great! my hnbsaud did a fellowship at osu medical center last year. we lived in upper arlington and LOVED it! we also lived on the east coast during medical school and residency and felt that columbus was a good mix of east coast meets midwest. we have 3 kids and thought it was a very family friendly (easy) place to live.you'll love the shopping-easton town center is great! congrats on finishing training! my hnbsaud finished last year after 11 years (and 5 moves). it's a great feeling! hope you're ready to become a buckeye fan! I don't live near Columbus but I've attended autniocs and I know you have to know your cars and prices before you go or you'll end up paying too much. Police impound autniocs actually give you a better chance of getting a good deal because there aren't so many car dealers there bidding against you. Here's more about it:.
