The tomato is the new state fruit for Ohio... I wish I had not cut up that tomato Sunday for salad... it would be prettier whole and without the Ziploc bag...

And to top it off... some Ketchup?

We use a lot of tomatoes in Kentucky too, we make Ragu Spaghetti Sauce.

Connie I think there is some pasta sauce in the pantry too...  I was thinking this was all I had to illustrate a story about the tomato. There is a link in the photo to more of the story....

I love V8, I usually stop at the Wawa and pick up a bottle every day on my way to the office.

June I just saw something about Wawa... never heard of it until the other day.  I heard about it on Facebook or Twitter,  I have been in your area but it has been years... maybe I saw them and forgot?    I love V8 but it has too much sodium but the low sodium version does not taste as good.

and first commercially grown in Central Ohio....  I found a whole tomato section in the pantry when I went looking for pasta sauce... no pasta sauce but plenty of tomatoes and tomato sauce to make some.

LOL @Maureen....You're missing the Vodka and celery, but it's a bit early for that.  Fun comments on this one!

Thanks for the comments ladies.  I used a photo from Flickr to adorn my post on my WordPress blog this morning that the tomato is now  Ohio's state fruit.. but sometimes we've got to use what we've got...

Gail I like V8 a lot more than tomato juice but with some spices, some vodka and a celery stick I can handle tomato juice...

Or I used to love to drink Milwaukee Coolers ... beer and Bloody Mary fixings...  mmm mmm good, not for breakfast though of course....

Hi Maureen... this photo would have made a very good selection for my Fruitless Fridays posts... BUT WAIT... isn't the tomato technically a fruit and not a vegetable?

It is a fruit.  Ohio's state fruit.  Thanks.

Well, if it is a fruit, then V8 should probably have been called F8 since it it predominantly a tomato based drink.
