Columbus takes Ohio State Buckeye Football very serious.  I am not a big sports fan and I am not a Buckeye.  I am a University of Wisconsin graduate - Facebook Football Fans and the Finger  but a sudden surge in traffic on  2009 Ohio State Football Schedule post on my Worthington Ohio real estate  site made me realize "It's time or Ohio State Football" for most people in Columbus and throughout the state.

Will this year be different than other years?  Is August 22, 2011 the day of reckoning?

The first game is September 3, 2011 against Akron University.

Columbus Ohio - Scarlet and Gray real estate true colors...

"Religion, politics and sports! We all have opinions, but what is their place in business?"

Tim Fennell a real estate agent in Duval Florida responded:

"I'm a bit confused.... are you suggesting there is a difference between college football and religion? ;-)   "

Richard is talking to people in the real estate industry about showing our true colors... politics, religion or team affiliation.  On the original post Missy Caulk a Michigan real estate agent commented:

"Gee, I live in Ann Arbor...huge college town. I do market to U of M fans and my branding is on my blogs, photo blogs, website etc.

I guess I am odd man out here....oh well."

Good thing Missy is in Ann Arbor, she would be in trouble in Central Ohio.

Cokes Chapel in Sharpsburg GASome years ago I had a business partner that was one of the biggest Georgia Tech fans EVER! His office was a shrine to the Yellow Jackets, rife with paraphernalia and memorabilia dedicated to his favorite team.

When I asked him if he would “tone it down” a bit, he became offended. He belligerently stated that if people couldn’t accept him for “who he was,” then they didn’t have to deal with him.

Which meant that he was knowingly drawing a line in the sand based upon a trivial affectation for a particular university’s sports franchise. And were he to encounter a prospect that was as a much of a fanatical proponent of a rival team, there was actually a chance of losing business.

There is nothing wrong with having very personal and profound beliefs when it comes to religion, politics, and even sports teams. And while we might all enjoy an intellectual discourse on the pros and cons of any particular tenet of faith, a little open-mindedness goes a long way towards a professional business attitude.

And it helps us stay focused on the business at hand!

Since I have NO Badger photos or graphics that I can legally use... I will go with a Real Living HER Ohio State football ecard and a Badger song... 

There are two agents in my office who are Badgers... we're surrounded by a bunch of nuts.  

My favorite Buckeye bloggers are unanimous that the Buckeyes are going to beat the Badgers.... Saturday at noon at the horseshoe in Columbus Ohio.
