Columbus Casting Call

Being a blogger can bring other opportunities...  "The Dating Game" called this week and they are looking for a "single" Columbus woman for a TV Show.  They are shooting an episode in Columbus.

Actually it is NOT the Dating Game... that's so 1969...

"Holidate" is going to be on in Fall 2009 and a casting director who left me a message said he found me on my blog, ColumbusBestBlog.  I looked up what a "Holidate" is online, in the Urban Dictionary.  OK.

Michael Yates of ABC SoapNet said they are looking for women "from 27, 28 years old  to 42."  The Holidate website says woman ages 25 to 40....

either way they are NOT looking for me. ;- )

Could they be looking for you?  Someone you know with star quality? No this is about love not stardom.   Columbus single women who are  "looking for love anywhere but here" here's the Holidate application

The ABC TV show "Biggest Loser" often does casting in Columbus.  I'd just blogged about a friend's family member being on that show this week when I got the phone call about Holidate.  Coincidence? Joke?

The image is a Real Living eCard and has nothing to do with Holidate.   I believe it was an eCard when Real Living HER was casting their TV commercials a few years ago.

OSU Buckeye 4 Biggest Loser


I'm not talking about the Ohio  football team or baseketball team or any OSU team...

Columbus watch the finale tonight of this season’s ‘Biggest Loser’ TV Show and vote for Erinn to be on 'Biggest Loser' this fall.

Two contestants for next falls season will be introduced. One is an OSU student… Erinn.  YOU can vote for Erinn to get her on the Biggest Loser show airing next fall. As I understand it we will be able to text a vote for Erinn during the show.  Text our vote...

Erinn grew up in Kentucky but lives in Central Ohio while she attends college at OSU. I know Erinn's Grandma.  You might too.  You may know Erin's Grandpa or Step-Grandpa too.  Big Buckeye fan...

Erinn went to a casting event at the Buckeye Hall of Fame... like other Central Ohioans.

A kid from Columbus Ohio featured on Techmeme

Haochi Chen is a Columbus Ohio teenager... He's 17 now... I believe Haochi is a junior in high school. Are you familiar with Techmeme?   I was browsing through  Techmeme today and I recognized Haochi Chen's name... and the name of his blog "Googlified."  Haochi Chen is a Google enthusiast.

Here's the blurb for Haochi's post from Techmeme:

"  Haochi / Googlified: Google Digg-Style Experiment  -  Google Experimental is currently running an experiment that allows some selected users to "influence [the] search experience by adding, moving, and removing search results."  -  On a result page, you can choose move a search result to the top by clicking ... I first heard of Haochi when he found a vulnerability in gmail at the end of 2006.  I believe it was over the New Years Holiday that he notified Google of the vulnerability..  I wrote about Haochi Chen on my Discover Columbus blog in early 2007:

"CBC (Canadian Broadcast Corporation)  said : "The vulnerability was discovered by 16-year-old Haochi Chen of Columbus, Ohio, who reported it on his Googlified blog on Dec. 30." 

Reading Google Digg-Style Experiment on Googlified it sounds like it is a private beta and Haochi is one of the experimenters...

What is Techmeme?  Techmeme desribes itself:

Emphasis on passionate independents is mine.. I believe Haochi Chen could be considered a passionate independent! Maybe he's been on Techmeme before and I missed it, a lot of it is way over my head. Maybe Haochi on Techmeme all the time... maybe Techmeme is 1/3 very smart high school kids like Haochi....
