Winter Wickedness in Worthington

Winter Wickedness at the Worthinton Holiday Inn runs through tonight but I believe it is sold out already... if you are so inclined.

Dean Narciso wrote about "the festival" for the Columbus Dispatch:  Columbus Dispatch:  Winter Wickedness Perversion Fest draws heat

I first  saw something about it on the news last night on Channel 10...  I must not have been paying much attention... maybe half asleep?  I thought "Is that Worthington?" When I heard Worthington I tried to tell myself it was at a Holiday Inn in the Crosswoods area (City of Columbus), not the Holiday Inn in Worthington.

Channel 10 News: Churches Protest Sexual Festival At Hotel says:

"Paper and trash bags covered the doors and windows of the hotel during the event"

Wonder how the church groups even knew about the event?  Wonder why they chose Worthington. Worthington is one of the most traditional looking  communities in Central Ohio.  Worthington with it's brick colonial structures lining High Street seems like an odd place for a "Sexual Festival."

Not that I would venture to name another Central Ohio suburb as more suitable... for a "Sexual Festival."

The church groups got the Columbus Health Department involved.  The Columbus Health Department covers the City of Worthington as well as Columbus.

Winter Wickedness was Friday and Saturday night.

My office is kitty corner from the Holiday Inn on High Street in Worthington.  I drove by a few times yesterday, clueless.

Columbus Clippers - Cleveland Indian's farm team

ESPN / AP  is reporting that the Columbus Clippers will be the Cleveland Indians Farm Team for the 2009 season. I heard it first listening to the radio, on local news first.  No news of it yet on the Clippers site.

The new Huntington Park baseball field is opening in Spring 2009.  According to the AP story the deal making the Columbus Clipper's Cleveland's top farm team is for 4 years, 2009 to 2012.

The Columbus Clippers played their final game at Cooper Stadium earlier this month.  The Columbus Clippers were a farm team for the Washington Nationals most recently for a couple of years.  The Clippers were a New York Yankees farm team for years.

The new Huntington Park is in Downtown Columbus in the Arena District.
