Mapping Monday... Columbus Ohio

Columbus Ohio is on the map... I'd like to propose Mapping Monday along the lines of Wordless Wednesdays, Speechless Sunday... and FollowWorthington's Walnut Grove Cemetery Fridays (Follow Friday may just be on Twitter...) not sure if I have missed any days of the week that bloggers and Twitterers honor in this manner.

I have taken part occasionally...

Wordless Wednesdays

Speechless Sundays...

There has been some mindless debate on whether all the Wordless Wednesday and Speechless Sunday  photos are ruining the ActiveRain Real Estate Network... I might suggest Mindless Monday's on ActiveRain?  Make up a catchy title...

Mapping is a good thing.  Isn't it?

Walnut Grove Cemetery on Goth Columbus Map by Tamara Rose - I found an interesting map for Central Ohio, including Columbus Ohio  on Google Maps.  Done by Tamara Rose, "Gothic Columbus. "

I found the Google map because of Memorial Day... looking at a map of Walnut Grove Cemetery on Google I found Tamara Rose's Map. Walnut Grove Cemetery is an important part of Memorial Day in Central Ohio.  The historic cemetery is in historic Worthington Ohio.  Walnut Grove Cemetery is the farthest north point of the Gothic Columbus map

Described as "These are places that specifically cater to the "Goth" crowd, are goth-friendly (i.e. I always get great service, even while wearing the full regalia), or are supposedly haunted."

I love Tamara Rose's ("The girl next door, if you live next door to a graveyard." )  description of Walnut Grove Cemetery.  I love the "please respect the area's residents both dead and living."

Other interesting Worthington cemeteries include St. John's and the Flint Cemetery, both north of Walnut Grove Cemetery. If I might I suggest another Worthington site to Tamara Rose? Plesenton Drive....  Old, old,old souls here... Worthington's Ancient History    "Map If you go today.  Plesenton Drive is the first left off Olentangy River Road north of State Route 161 (Dublin Granville Road.)  The Jeffers Mound sits in a residential area. " Approach with Respect

Columbus Ohio of course has great cemeteries, a  Civil War Cemetery, The Greenlawn Cemetery and Tamara Rose got them on her map.

Happy Mapping Monday...

Worthington a magical place

Columbus Neighborhood Poll

Columbus Neighborhoods pie chart

It's a poll.

What's the best City of Columbus Residential Neighborhood?

Actually I said "City of Columbus / Columbus School District"  to distinguish between neighborhoods in the City of Columbus in suburban school districts.

The poll is just a little something I threw together on another blog a few years ago... I believe it came after a poll about the best suburbs of the city of Columbus....

I spelled out City of Columbus neighborhoods in the Columbus School District in this poll,  I named some of the biggest neighborhoods.  I certainly did not suggest  a large number of the City of Columbus neighborhoods but tried to hit bigger areas,  Clintonville, German Village, Victorian Village, Forest Park, the Northland area, Downtown...

Downtown?  Not one vote for Downtown?  I think that  is not about downtown.... I  just don't have hip downtown readers...  not a surprise to me.

I said City of Columbus suburbs but someone voted for Grandview Heights. Maybe the person who voted for Grandview Heights means the Grandview area? The area north of the City of Grandview Heights.   Nice neighborhood.  Small. That sometimes confuses home buyers.  They see something advertised as Grandview but it is in the Columbus School District NOT the Grandview School District.

The original poll is on an old blog, you can vote on PollDaddy.com directly with the link above if you want to vote for a Columbus neighborhood in the Columbus School District.

Maybe I should have said PLACES....

The Best Columbus Ohio Suburb poll earlier was about the suburbs.  The  Clintonville comment on the other vote there says: "not a suburb but the best neighborhood CLINTONVILLE"

Other city of Columbus neighborhoods were voted for in the suburb poll too!

Pretty pie chart is from PollDaddy...
