" I think that Delawanda Park is a Delawanda Park community. It's significantly North of the Clintonville recognized by non-Realtor™s.
Conspiracy in the Clintonville area of Columbus
Isn't it REALTORS® ? Or Realtors®? Or is "non-Realtors" trademarked???
A Realtor is a member of a trade organization.... There is CBR, OAR or NAR? Was this the job of the Columbus Board of Realtors®? The Ohio Association of Realtors® Or does this go all the way to the top? Did the National Association of Realtors® work to put a sign at the Worthington Columbus City line welcoming people to Clintonville?
Did members of the National Association of REALTORS® erect the sign on Rathbone Rd. welcoming people to "Delawanda a Clintonville Community?" Or were citizens of the community responsible for the sign in their community?
Was the "Welcome to Clintonville" sign on High Street at the south end of the city of Worthington erected by Realtors®? I believe this sign was placed there by the City of Columbus rather than "Realtors." I believe the sign welcoming people to Clintonville is on around the corner of High St. and W. Stanton.... north of Delawanda Heights, Tremont Gardens*, Sharon Heights, etc. Chaseland on the east side of High St. is a city of Columbus neighborhood.
Tremont Gardens is not in the City of Columbus. The Tremont Garden neighborhood is in Sharon Township.

Clintonville the best Columbus neighborhood? Columbus neighborhood poll... Clintonville is a neighborhood.... "What's the best City of Columbus / Columbus Schools Residential Neighborhood?"
Voters on that poll added in other Central Ohio suburbs. The comment about "not a suburb but the best neighborhood CLINTONVILLE" was left on the Best suburb poll. Westgate was left more than once... a neighborhood not a suburb.

Clintonville is #12 of '365 Places to Live in Columbus'... it is a poll that has been on ColumbusBestBlog.com since 2007... it is a poll of City of Columbus neighborhoods, in the Columbus City School District...not that there is anything wrong with City of Columbus neighborhoods in suburban school districts...
... City of Columbus neighborhoods in the Columbus school district, downtown, German Village, Victorian Village, Italian Village, Merion Village, Westgate. Clintonville is winning the poll... but not far ahead of a surprise to me...

The Terraces on Walhalla are NEW condominiums in Clintonville. Terraces on Walhalla is at the corner of High Street and Weber Rd. The four story building's address is 10 E. Weber Rd. Columbus Ohio 43202.
Terraces on Walhalla offers one, two and three bedroom units. There are 20 residential units. The project is listed with Real Living HER team of Gledhill Robbins & Talis Group and of Real Living HER. Bill Robbins gave me a tour of the project a couple of weeks ago... gee I wish I would have written about it when it was fresh in my brain... there is a lot of diversity to the units... mostly I remember coveting a sold unit with a huge closet and a killer terrace... the condo floor plans are very open and flexible. The finishes are gorgeous, quartz or granite counters, hardwood floors.
Some of the terraces are to die for, each unit has a private terrace and there are two large common area terraces as well. Condominiums offer a view of High Street or Walhalla depending on your preference.
Of course the Clintonville neighborhood is very walkable and bikeable. That place in the parking garage at Terraces on Walhalla for your bike is very important.
Using the Search Terraces on Walhalla link above will take you to the Real Living HER home search, you will be offered the opportunity to receive listings directly from the Columbus Board of REALTORS MLS. #10 of '365 Places to Live in Columbus' on Facebook. Reading the post, knowing Paul's voice I hear this article in Paul's voice. Paul was a Clintonville Council Member for years. I think I knew reading "Where does Clintonville end and Beechwold begin" originally that it was Paul who wrote it.... Writes like he talks?
Paul ran for Columbus City Council in 2007 - Paul's voice
Hello I'm Paul Bingle, candidate for....
Now you know Paul's voice.... I have not seen Paul in years but I have known him since 1990. He used to work in both the real estate industry (I did not know him then) and the mortgage business when I knew him.
The Website for Paul's campaign says:
"Paul has been a passionate and effective community leader since 1984, primarily interacting with projects in the Clintonville neighborhood."
Yet the Where does Clintonville end and Beechwold begin? says:
"Is there a Beechwold and a separate Clintonville?
It all depends on who you ask - but the truthful answer remains the same. Neither "Clintonville" nor "Beechwold" ever existed as political or formally recognized entities. Thus any answer as to where the boundaries are between the two areas is an answer based on myth."
I had two friends who had lived in Clintonville / Beechwold at one point in their lives or thought they did at some time or another. One grew up on Arden Road... (I believe that's the street ...) the other lived on ??? a road that the other whispered to me "that's Beechwold" when the other said "Clintonville."
The sign shown above is on High St. at the Columbus corporation limit, where Worthington ends... North of Graceland which is north of both Beechwold and Graceland.

From 'Field of Dreams.' "If you build it they will come." Not a baseball diamond in a cornfield.
If you build a turn lane on N. Broadway in Clintonville more traffic will use North Broadway rather than side streets, according to at least one Clintonville resident who lives on North Broadway.
Clintonville does not have cornfields. An established area on the cities north side, Clintonville is primarily residential.
I had to stay up and watch the news last night to see what neighbors in Clintonville were arguing about. 10TV.com - Clintonville Neighbors Argue Over Busy Intersection The solution for some Clintonville residants? A turn lane that would allow south turns on High Street from N. Broadway. Traffic from I-71 exiting via the North Broadway exit can not turn south on N. High St. The two proposals both put turn lane on North Broadway.
Who opposes a turn lane on North Broadway? People who live on North Broadway.
"The left-hand turn lane, we believe, is just like Kevin Costner said in Field of Dreams: 'If you build it, they will come', " an opponent of the proposed lane told 10TV News."

A book, 'Clintonville and Beechwold' will be published in 2009 by Clintonville resident Shirley Hyatt. The book will be published by Arcadia Press in their Images of America series in January 2009. Mrs. Hyatt has a blog too. The blog Clintonville History is not the same content as the book. The blog, Clintonville History has content she couldn't fit into the book.
"Clintonville, a Columbus neighborhood situated four miles north of the Ohio Statehouse, began as a sleepy crossroads halfway between Columbus and Worthington. Beechwold, three more miles north, was a farm, then a zoo. Today they are bedroom communities but no longer sleepy. The beauty of their grassy knolls, springs, river, and wooded ravines inspired the creation of one of Ohio’s best amusement parks, which in turn spurred housing and businesses. The City of Columbus marched right alongside this progress, annexing residential areas almost as soon as they were developed. This new compilation tells, through images and words, the story of Clintonville and Beechwold as they evolved from sleepy hamlets to the communities they are today."
Hyatt's blog has many old photos. I first read Clintonville History on my cell phone and was frustrated at reading the descriptions and not being able to see all the old photos. There are pictures of buildings and people from long ago.
Just a few of the things I learned about Clintonville and Beechwold history in my one afternoon reading Clintonville History (the blog) include:
People in the Highland Gardens area (and elsewhere in Clintonville) kept chickens... (Hyatt shows a photo of Chicken's on Tulane Avenue) "The answer to today’s hard economic times"
There are four Lustron Homes in Clintonville. The one Hyatt identifies is the one I know on Weisheimer. Perhaps I need to buy the book to find out where the other three Lustron homes are....

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet? Shakespeare...
Whetstone is a park in Clintonville. Clintonville is on the northside of the City of Columbus. More than one relocating client has asked me about the boundaries of Clintonville over the years.
“It all depends on who you ask - but the truthful answer remains the same. Neither “Clintonville” nor “Beechwold” ever existed as political or formally recognized entities. Thus any answer as to where the boundaries are between the two areas is an answer based on myth.”
Another Clintonville myth? Or near myth? Clintonville is dry. I will never dare to say that Clintonville is dry again online... I did on ColumbusBestBlog.com There are NOT a lot of drinking establishments in the Clintonville Beechwold area may be a safer statement.
We went to the 2008 Columbus Rose Festival this year... I miss it most years... too busy with real estate in June. If you like roses visit the Park of Roses at Whetstone Park
There are fireworks at Whetstone on the 4th of July. There's a concert at the park every Sunday evening during the summer too.

Clintonville Ohio is a residential area on the north side of Columbus. In the Real Living Story "Grandview & More" Clintonvilleisthe "& More." I scratched my head and said "huh?" when I first watched the video... The Real Living Story includes Grandview and the Grandview area... and Clintonville. The part of the video dealing with Clintonville is about half way through and starts with the Whetstone Library in Whetstone Park in Clintonville.
"Charming homes, trendy restaurants and the Buckeye spirit are plentiful in this area." according to the Real Living Story of "Grandview & More."
"& More" will be called Clintonville from now on... or Clintonville / Beechwold.
Buckeye spirit is pretty common all over Central Ohio.. but there probably are more OSU professors in Clintonville and Grandview because of the proximity of both to the university.
The charming homes part is definitely true of both Clintonville and Grandview. And Clintonville and Grandview homes are roughly from the same era so that may be why the Real Living marketing folks lumped the two areas in one video...
The "trendy restaurants" is much more true of Grandview because Clintonville is dry. There are some great breakfast and lunch spots on High Street in Clintonville and Beechwold these days but you aren't going to go out for a steak and a bottle of wine in Clintonville... or even a brat and a draught of beer. There is an Applebees at Graceland now, but is Graceland Clintonville? Everything south of Worthington is "governed" by the Clintonville Area Commission.
A Clintonville website says: A locally favorite debate: Where does Clintonville end and Beechwold begin? Paul Bingle who served on the Clintonville area commission for a number of years is the author of that site. ' The Clintonville Portal' describes Clintonville as "Clintonville: A vibrant north-central Columbus (Ohio) community of 28,000 residents residing in more than 80 differing subdivisions. "Founded" in 1847."
Clintonville / Beechwold is an area of the City of Columbus. The Clintonville.org website also says:
The purest amongst us proclaim that Clintonville is a state of (wonderful) mind and its is a community that encompasses many neighborhoods, including the Crestview, Walhalla, Dominion Park, Northmoor, Webster Park, Northridge, Overbrook, Rosemary Park, Indian Springs subdivisions, as well as the Beechwold subdivisions and the more than 70 other formally named subdivisions. There is no right place to draw a line between the often discussed Clintonville and Beechwold neighborhoods - because there never was a formal boundary. "Clintonville" is the combination of many neighborhoods. There is no value in trying to separate the two halves of the community.
The party conversation will likely never end - in endless riddle discussion of the where the dividing boundaries are.
Whetstone Park in Clintonville including The Park of Roses is 136.28 acres. The Columbus Rose Festival is held the first weekend of June each year. The Whetstone Branch of the Columbus Public Library is at Whetstone Park. Clintonville is a walking community and a biking community with the bike path running along the Olentangy River west of Clintonville.
A yearly tradition is the Clintonville Homes Tour. Hosted by and benefiting the Clintonville Community Fund, with the support of the North Area Real Estate Association, it's a public tour of private residences on the Sunday after Labor Day. The Clintonville Homes Tour has homes in Beechwold and Clintonville on it often.
Paul Bingle's Clintonville Portal has items of historical interest that he has researched
Often buyers will look for homes in both Clintonville / Beechwold (north of OSU) and Grandview (south west of OSU) because the homes are similar in age and style but there are some differences. Clintonville is in the Columbus school district. Clintonville is a neighborhood or an area of neighborhoods. Clintonville does not have hard and fast borders, as a city Grandview of course does. When you leave Worthington going south there are Clintonville signs but not all consider the area north of Graceland as Clintonville... or Beechwold...
Clintonville has an active Chamber of Commerce. There is a lot of new businesses including restaurants and shops in Clintonville in just the last couple of years. The very outdated Clintonville Commission website says: Clintonville is a special community with its tree-lined streets, parks, ravines and rich history. Preserving the charm and quality of life in Clintonville is a top priority of the CAC and presents many special challenges
The Clintonville Area Commission or "How Clintonville grew" again this is according to Paul Bingle on Clintonville.org
"In late 1974, the City of Columbus created the "Clintonville Area Commission", designating its governance area (south: the Glen Echo Ravine, west: the Olentangy River, north: the City's border with the unincorporated Sharon Township and the City of Worthington, east: the Big Four Railroad). Although the CAC's name includes the word "area" - as time passed, most residents within the geographical area of the CAC's oversight, including residents north of Clinton Township, believed that they resided in "Clintonville". Thus the imaginary boundaries grew.
P.S. Did Grandview look interesting? I will cover Grandview separately....
