Selling your Central Ohio home - it starts with your mailbox

mailboxSelling your Central Ohio home according to '101 Ways to Prepare Your Home For Sale' it starts with your mailbox...

Not YOUR mailbox but mailboxes in general.... according to this little book they (mailboxes)  gotta be nice or buyers won't look at your house,  it is a place to start...

Words of wisdome from this little book I bought at the Columbus Board of REALTORS store? Making your home attrractive to buyers all starts at the street if you've got a mailbox "on the street."  Central Ohio is kind of a mishmash of urban mailboxes on the house or rural mailboxes at the street or the totally uncharming clustered mailboxes.

The book (it's really more of a booklet) says:

"1. Remove all signs of deterioration.  Replace the post the mailbox sits, on if necessary.  If not painting it to match the house is a nice touch.  Remove rust from the box itself."

Gee is this the start of a series of '101 Ways to Prepare Your Home For Sale'?

maybe...

There are real estate bloggers who take pictures of mailboxes. While they are interesting and some parts of the country seem to have lots of interesting mailboxes, I have a little prayer "Please don't let that happen to me."
